I could tell you that I grew up as an artist. That I had a talent from an early age, honed my skills, studied the endless avenues that could expand my artistic ability, and skyrocketed to be the person who I am today. But, that just isn’t the case. First and foremost, I’m a businessman. No, I’m not a suit. I mean sure, I’ve got a few of them, along with a wide variety of neck ties that borders on obscene. I’m more of an incognito businessman. The kind that that wears jeans and a t-shirt, but stands up straight, looks you in the eyes and doesn’t beat around the bush when it comes to getting work done. I live on the principal of the Golden Rule. I believe that morals and ethics trump cutthroat and cost cutting any day. And that Dale Carnegie’s tactics in dealing with human relations should be taught yearly from Jr. High and up. What I didn’t know, was that my nine years of various experience as a businessman across all sorts of venues would be the foundation for my real calling in life.
In early 2009 I started gathering ideas for revitalizing the long lost world of the living dead. Now, I must explain myself. 28 Days Later, Resident Evil, World War Z, nearly every zombie movie since the original Night of the Living Dead Saga debuted has been abusing the virus explanation. George Romero never used a virus. As a matter of fact, anyone who died, no matter how they died, turned into a zombie in Romero’s Dead Saga. So, seemingly almost effortless, I started writing my first novel. If you were to take the character and story development of Stephen King, mix it with the realism of Lee Child, heavily laden it with action sequences similar to James Rollins, and give it the apocalyptic, chilling feeling of Romero’s Dead Saga, you would have the formula for my first novel. Since March of 2009, I have completely written two novels of the trilogy, written a screenplay that works in conjunction with the trilogy, a second screenplay that has been labeled by some as the most frightening take on alien abductions ever, and have started the third novel of the trilogy. On top of that, I am the owner of Bedroom Ghost Productions, the Producer for ‘Survival’, the Producer and Director for ‘Abductee’, and combined my experience as a businessman with my new found artistic ability to gain a following of a group of talented, award winning directors, screenwriters, and cinematographers in Southern California to help give birth to the next generation of modern horror.

What can I say? I’m just your average werewolf-obsessed, horror junkie with a morbid sense of humor and sarcasm to spare. Okay, maybe not so average. When I’m not out baying at the moon and robbing graves, I’m keeping busy with one of my various projects. I write, draw, assist in online promotions, read (books and comics), play video games, watch movies, model, and work a full time job.
Of everything, I’d have to say horror is my biggest infatuation. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t a horror fan; whether it was checking out creepy books from the library in elementary school or writing stories about monsters. I’ve been collecting horror memorabilia for ages and my collection includes a life-size cut out of Bela Lugosi as Dracula, a full-size replica Wolf Man cane, tons of toys and magazines, movies, posters, and all the things yet to come.
I’m also a huge geek/nerd/dork/whatever label you prefer. I own a PS3, XBox 360, Wii, DS and some other odds and ends. I also regularly play WoW and D&D. (That’s right, I like to throw down nat 20s and raid dungeons, bitches!)
In addition to blogging on swell sites like ThinkLeet, I run my own website (mainly a blog). You can find more of my sarcastic musings at www.StrangeLikeThat.com .
I suppose that’s it for now. This is Macabri, Red Lantern of Sector 2814, signing off.
